Valentine's Origami Hearts
What better way to show someone you care than with a hand-folded paper heart?
Learn how to make a super easy origami heart for Valentine's Day.
Things you will need:
- A piece of square paper - any paper will work.
- A tiny bit of patience
- A few clever folds
That's it - nothing complicated at all.
Here's what you have to do:
A point to note before you start - if you are using a two-sided sheet of paper then make sure you start with the wrong side facing up.
Step One
Start with a square piece of paper.
Step Two
Fold the paper in half on the diagonal bringing the top corner to the bottom one. Unfold.
Step Three
Fold in half again, bringing the bottom left corner to the top right one. Unfold.
Step Four
Turn your paper so that it is like a diamond rather than a square.
Step Five
Fold the bottom corner to centre crease.
Step Six
Rotate the paper around and fold bottom corner to top edge.
Step Seven
Fold the right hand side up diagonally to meet with centre fold.
Step Eight
Repeat the same step on the other side.
Step Nine
Flip over the folded paper.
Step Ten
Fold both of the top points down to the fold line.
Step Eleven
Now fold both of the side points in slightly.
Step Twelve
Flip the folded heart over and ta-da, there you have your finished origami heart.
If you are giving as a token on Valentine's Day, you can insert a slip of paper with a message into the centre pocket.
