Umberslade Adventure - Updated

Outdoor activity fun for adventurous types!

Today we headed to our favourite outdoor adventures playground. If you have children who are the adventurous type like my boys then this is the perfect place for you to visit.
Umberslade Adventure is nestled in the countryside just outside Hockley Heath and is a family adventure centre with lots of fantastic outdoor activities on offer.

There's all sorts going on like Nature Trails, Den Building, Woodland Walks, A Commando Course, Low Ropes Courses, A Play Area, A Trampoline and Zip Wires.

You have to pre book your tickets via their website. They do not allow payment on arrival. This ensures that they are able to limit numbers in the park. This measure definitely works as it didn’t feel overly busy at all and there was plenty of space for everyone to move around safely.

The drive up to the adventure park is something special in itself. You drive through the woods and it felt like you were driving into Narnia or Center Parcs.

On arrival into the park there is a hand sanitising point to use before entering. You then have to go into the reception and show your QR code for your booking. All very simple and straight forward. Make sure you remember your face masks.

When you check in, you are able to book the Zip Wire. Bookings are on a first come first served basis and can't be booked in advance. They are £3.50 each go. Payment is via cash only so you'll need some cash if you have children wanting to go on the zip wire.

There are hand sanitising stations dotted all around the park which is amazing to see. They’re all automatic too so no touching needed. I lost count of how many I saw. There’s also signage all around reminding you to keep your distance from people. People were all very considerate and at no point did I feel unsafe or vulnerable.

There's a new addition to the site - Bluebells Lodge. The previous outdoor catering van now has a permanent fixture. They sell drinks, lunch options, freshly made donuts, cakes and ice creams. All were very reasonably priced and were really good. The people running it are really lovely and the hot chocolates and donuts definitely were welcomed today to warm us up.

We took a picnic in with us and easily found a picnic bench to sit at. There’s also a picnic area in the woods. We left our picnic in the car and went and grabbed it at lunchtime. It saved carrying it around with us and they were absolutely fine with us going out to get it.

Another thing that we noticed was that there were bins everywhere which is so good as so many places don’t have enough bins. Staff were also litter picking throughout the day.

Tickets are a bargain; Adults £6, Children (3-16 years) £6.50, Toddler (under 3's) Free, Concessions £5.50 and a Family Ticket (2 adults and 2 children) £22.

Extra tickets have been released for this week Here’s the link to book tickets if you fancy going - Book Tickets

There is honestly so much to do. We were there for 6 hours and the children could definitely have stayed longer. We got there as it opened and left as it closed. We had the best day.
