The Barge and Quarterdeck
Pizza and a Pint - What's not to love?
At the weekend we went for a little walk around our home town of Stratford upon Avon and stopped at The Barge and Quarterdeck for a pizza dinner for the boys.
We sat down in the Bancroft Gardens and enjoyed what feels like it could be one of the last days of Summer.
All of the pizzas are freshly cooked wood fired pizzas and they are served from a traditional refurbished Dutch barge that is anchored in the canal basin on Waterside.
The barge has been very cleverly converted into a bar and casual diner that serves drinks and pizzas so we even managed to grab a pint of lager to enjoy while the boy's ate their pizzas. There's also fizz and wine on offer is lager isn't your thing.
At the moment you are not able to use the deck to sit at to eat due to COVID-19 regulations but the service and standards are just as good. The COVID-19 procedure in place is great and is all very well set out.
The barge is normally open 7 days a week from 10am until 8pm but this is subject to weather conditions and how busy the area is. There's no point them staying open if nobody is around.
This quirky bar/cafe is absolutely worth a visit. Remember to take your picnic blanket and enjoy the sights of beautiful Stratford upon Avon.
