Yesterday, we had a lovely afternoon at Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Cafe for their annual 'Pick Your Own' pumpkin event.

It was their opening day of the season for pumpkin picking yesterday so the field was full to the brim with all sorts of different pumpkins.

‍There was every shape, size and colour available.

We picked up a wheelbarrow and headed to the trailer to pay our entrance fee.

Entrance to the field is £1 each (children 1 years and under are free). You then pay for your pumpkins at the end. Both cash and card is accepted.

There is no tractor ride this year as the pumpkin field is right by the car park.

A little tip - make sure you walk to the top of the hill first before picking your pumpkins, otherwise you’ve got to push them up and back down again.

The orange Munchkin Pumpkin road was so cute.

‍There’s a bale mountain that the children (and grown ups) can climb but make sure children are supervised at all times.

We picked our pumpkins and went back to the trailer to pay for them. There’s a one way system in place. Follow the signs and you’ll end up back at the trailer.

The boys loved it at the end as we got them to guess how much each pumpkin was and then they used the pumpkin sizer to work it out.

There’s a pumpkin washing area at the end that you can give your pumpkins a quick swill before putting them in the car if they’re particularly muddy.

We paid for our pumpkins, loaded them in to the car and went to the cafe for a drink and piece of cake.

The cafe is really lovely and has amazing freshly baked cakes. There’s also a little play area so we were able to have a drink in peace while we watched the children playing.

It's our favourite farm locally and we love all the seasonal events that they put on.
