Today we've been to a park that we've never visited before. One of our lovely followers, Leanne, mentioned Houlton Park in Rugby to us and after Googling, we knew we had to make a trip out to visit.

Houlton is one of Rugby's newest neighbourhoods and has the most amazing new play park. Dare I say that the park is in our top five.

The play park is advertised as a 'destination playground' which basically means that it provides play opportunities for toddlers and older children all in one place. This is absolutely the case.

It has a brilliant wooden climbing structure with bridges, poles and a slide, a brilliant super clean sandpit area, swings, a separate toddler area and giant wobbly bridge. It is also surrounded by open fields for team games.

There are also over a mile of walkways and cycle paths that weave through the land. They form a pretty nature trail.

Very close to the park is The Tuning Fork - a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, coffee and cakes.

The park is fenced in from the road so is perfectly safe for littler ones. The play equipment is only 2 years old so is still relatively new. It has been looked after amazingly and is very clean.

There is a great range of equipment for all ages. There's loads of space to run around and there were lots of benches and bins. Always a bonus.

While we were there there was no more than 15 children. For such a big area it felt pretty quiet.

There are no toilets but the cafe is close by so you could grab a treat and use the toilets.

We didn't find any designated car park but there was lots of parking available around the estate. If you do visit then please be mindful that people are living on the estate so park sensibly.

We will definitely be going back and will grab something to eat next time.
